Phoenix Preview – 2022 Kia K8
The all-new 2022 Kia K8 isn’t just new styling, it’s a complete upgrade and replacement. The “sleek and futuristic sports sedan” as described by the South Korean brand is actually bigger than before, now stretching at a considerable 197.4 inches. The Kia Global Design Center is aiming for a more premium look. To that end, the head of the Design Center, Karim Habib says, “the car takes direct inspiration from some of the world’s most technically advanced yachts.” The K8 is no slouch in terms of design, from the fastback-esque roofline and tail to the frameless “tiger nose” front grille. The latter has an intriguing diamond-like lattice pattern and just as premium-looking are the cutouts in the front bumper for similarly shaped LED daytime running lights. At the tail, Kia’s new sedan is the latest car to embrace the full-width light bar, draping over the fenders in the shape of a Y. The K8 launches in markets this year, however, the specs, available markets, pricing, and trim levels are all up in the air.
